Ruturaj Eksambekar ,Amol Joshi & Tejas Deshpande(students of std IX)storm into the finals & emerge winners.
The VPMS team was one of the six finalists .Congratulations on this remarkable achievement.
The event was 'TECH MANAGEMENT' by IIT GUWAHATI for High School students.
The TECHNOTHLON 2008 was conducted at IIT Guwahati from 5th to 7th september 2008.In the Preliminary round there were 1700 participating teams from all over India .They were tested on three fronts - Science,Logic and General Knowledge and 100 were short listed.Of these 72 teams opted to take part in further elimination round from which 6 teams made it to the final round,VPMS team being one of them.
In the G.K Quiz , VPMS boys were the top scorers with a whopping 90 points ,leaving the other teams way behind to emerge CHAMPIONS.
In all there were three rounds:
1) The puzzle round_ aptly called 'CONFUZONE'
2) Elevate _ was the 'BRIDGE BUILDING' round
3) Prototype _ wherein a MODEL had to be made.

The prototype round had four topics to choose from:
1) Energy Conservation
2)Art of Communication
3)Waste Management
4)Space Exploration
The VPMS team went along with 'Energy Conservation' , topic of great concern in present times.Their creation was titled 'GREEN PUMP' .Herein a cycle is used to draw water from a well.In order to draw 500 ltrs of water(enough for a family of four) 1290 calories are expended.This thus turns out to be not only a power saver but also a calorie burner - a perfect two-in -one device.
The winning team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 6000/- and certificates.
