Ameya's THOUGHTS on unforgettable experience at Infosys

The people at Infosys are very kind,

Who have made a permanent place in my mind.

On seeing the campus, I was thrilled,

and with amusement, my mind was filled.

The teachers knew that we were capable,

To learn languages like SQL and ORACLE.

I thank them for giving us an opportunity,

To prove to them our capability.

The ten days at Infosys were a great experience,

Along with studies we were taught moral values like patience.

The teachers taught us very nice,

To help us understand, they explained it twice or thrice.

From this all of us will benefit,

As we will try and never quit.

All in all, Infosys was fantastic,

The arrangement here were classic.

This is what I wanted to tell,

On this occasion of farewell!

 THE HIMALAYAS

She drew deep footsteps in the cold sand as she walked along the sea. She was listening to the harsh voices of the waters, that were arguing about who is going to dash the big boulders first. She looked in the shallow water where it was full of weeds and amazing plants. She turn turned towards her basket where she had placed her rare collection of the wild flowers which she had got from a ‘dense forest’ which was basically a small garden outside her little village.

She was listening to the silent waters when suddenly her mother called out to her, “Nishita, have you brought the herbal flowers which I need for our neighbors next door?” “Yes mom I have ”she shouted back turning herself towards her hut which was dumped on a small cliff overlooking the gigantic drop. She went in, placed the basket in her mother’s hand and took a small morning nap on her bed of leaves.

Nishita was a teenage girl living with her mother on the coast of Tethys in Asia. She was a cheerful and a bubbly girl who always had an adventurous eye. Her mother was a traditional lady and her father had gone to a distant land in search of a job.

“Come quickly Nishita, there’s a new creature lying on the sand bank!” said Shakambari, Nishita’s comrade clutching her hand with anxiety and excitement.

They both rushed towards the shore and saw a small starfish in slumber like a beached

whale. They both were struck with wonder at this extra-ordinary sight.

Just then there was a loud rumbling and a roaring sound which was being heard by the two of them .A strange shudder ran past through their spine; and thinking that there would be a storm at Tethys, they picked themselves up and ran into there own houses.

The next moment was like terror and the next of mystery.

The afternoon passed, then the evening, then the dusk, then the night. Nothing had happened. There wasn’t any storm nor a natural calamity awaiting to the little village

Just like a black hole swallowing gravity.

It was morning. Nishita opened her eyes , which flickered in the sun. She turned herself away from the window in her sleeping state and saw Shakambari standing next to her. She got up with start

. Nishta- Shakambari! You! At this time in the morning ? What’s the matter? Everything is okay, isn,t it? I’m worried. What happened last night? A storm? A tornado? A …….Oh! Sorry, what happened?

Shakam- “You may breathe for a while if you want NishIta, so that I can talk. Everything is going wrong. The villagers think that we are just kidding with them”.

Nishta-“What makes you say that?”

Shakam- “They aren’t getting us, they don’t believe that there were sounds heard by us yesterday!”

Nishta- “What do they mean by that? Of course, we heard those weird sounds. I’ll just be there at your house soon after I finish my chores.”

As Nishita walked on the beach to reach the ‘dense forest’ everything was calm and quite. It was 7:30 in the morning and she could see the dew drops rested on the leaves. She reached the garden, collected the flowers, went back to her cottage and gave the floral treasure to her mother. Her mother was astonished because after ages, Nishita had a good control over her mind, which had not wandered off from her village into the sea.

After doing her tasks, she set out for Shakam’s hut. She reached there in seconds—perplexed and confused. Shakam’s mom invited Nishita for breakfast and they had a hearty feast of pancakes and honey.

After breakfast ,they both ran towards the sea and making themselves comfortable on a mossy hill, where they could enjoy the view of the as well as the ‘forest’ birds.

Shakam exclaimed, “Oh! This morning is as young as it has to be, but I can feel something’s wrong.

Nishita, “Will you please tell me in detail whatever has happened?”

Shakam,“ After those voices, which we heard yesterday, I headed for my hut, I can use

two routes to reach my destination. I may use the coastal route which is a short cut or I can pass through the noisy fish market which takes a few seconds more.

Nishita , “So ? What did you do?”

Shakam, “I took a longer route as I….

Nishita , “ Why?”

Shakam, “I don’t think I was speaking in French .You are not allowing me to speak .”

Nishita –Oh ! sorry! I was just….

Shakam-,“ keep quiet! After taking that path, I warned the villagers about the voices. I

informed this news to the village teacher also. But no soul believes me. I tried my best to console the people till I could .But I am sure that something strange is going to happen.

Nishita, “ Something must be done. It may prove harmful in some or the other way. It

must be done now ,before it’s too late.”

Shakam,  “What can we do?”

Nishta, “You’re right only on one hand that’s we can’t manage things. But on the other

hand ,  we do have an alighted path. See we can . . . . .

THE EARTH BEGAN TO SHAKE

“ Earthquake!  Tsunami! Run Shakam, run

Shakambari’s mind had wandered off somewhere. She was looking at the sea. She caught hold of her friend’s hand and cried , “ It’s no tsunami Nishita and the water is not coming towards us , it is subsiding!”

Nishita replied pale with fear, “ I can’t believe my eyes. Something’s strange is going to happen  but we have to run.”

The girls turned around but something unusual happened, a  very , very, very large shadow was over them and there was such a loud noise, so loud that it seemed that the Big Bang was taking place again.

They were so scared to turn around, but gathering their courage they looked at each other and at a blink of an eye, they turned around. And Lo! There stood the mighty ‘HIMALAYAS’ in front of them. They were speechless for a moment and then they came to know that they are still  there,on their feet.

Shakam suddenly remembered that the sea had vanished. “ The sea! Where’s our Tethys?”

Nishita exclaimed, “Hey look! It is the sea bed which got uplifted. I can see thousands of those creatures which we saw the other day.”

Indeed, those were the starfishes buried in the huge slopes and they could also see weeds, stones and conches all scattered here and there.

Soon, the villagers gathered all over the coast or it would appropriate to call it slopes which were obviously new to them. But, all of them were doomed by only one question-

‘Where’s Tethys?”

There were arguments and comments passed all over the place. Soon, all the villagers were packing their belongings, cattle, food and what more. They headed towards the mountain slopes. “Where are you off to?” asked Nishita puzzled as she was. “In search of Tethys!” replied the folks unanimously.

They all climbed the mountains along with Nishita, Shakambari, their mums and their belongings to find Tethys.

WHO KNOWS IF THEY CAN FIND IT SOMEWHERE……………………

Recently we just returned from the zonals(C.B.S.E) which were conducted by the Central India Acadamy held on the 13th to the 16th of September in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. We left on the 11th of Sept in the afternoon by Pune-Indore Express and reached Dewas station the next day at 8:30 in the morning. Then we went to our hotels and rested for sometime. In the evening we visited the school and got well versed with the arrangements. There  were excellent arrangements made for the diet of the swimmers, parents and coaches. The next day was full of excitement as it was the first time for us & the first day of the C.B.S.E tournament started off very well.On the first day we had a march past; where students of different states & schools,in their respective uniforms marched in front of the Chief Guest at the Opening Ceremony. The next three days were very hectic. All of my team mates and I wee deeply engrossed in our events. But no sooner than the tournament began..... it was over. At the end of the last day there was a closing ceremony where we had speeches and stage performances. The prize distribution was done at the end of each day for the events conducted on that day but individual trophies were given on the last day. Our school grabbed 21 medals with 12 gold,6 silver and 4 bronze.Anoushka and I were declared as individual champions, while others performed very well & are selected for the nationals.

We came back together in a bus & had lots of fun. We are looking forward to the Nationals being held at end of October in Chennai. All of us participated in the true spirit of sportsmanship and hope to proceed further the same way.
