“Girls, who dream, become women with vision.”
The Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune celebrated the International Girl Child Day on 11th October 2021. The Sr KG students participated in the virtual celebration on the theme “Perform to transform”. To commemorate this special day dedicated to the girl child, the young preschoolers participated with a lot of zeal and zest for this event.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted October 11, 2012 as the inaugural International Day of Girls.
This special day is celebrated to promote awareness about the rights of a girl child and the importance of girl education, health and nutrition.
The event began with a Prayer dance performed by the students to highlight the essence of the theme.
A welcome speech set up the tone for the audience and the significance and facts were spoken about by the children. “My voice, our equal future” was also emphasized for the girl child. A skit was performed by the children portraying the need for educating a girl child and showcased some of the iconic women of our country in the form of a role play.
The event concluded with a dance and poem recitation to enhance this special day dedicated for the girl child.
It was an earnest effort of the students of Sr.KG B to highlight the importance of girl child in the world. The special day celebration was a collaborative effort by our young shining stars, parents, VPMS team and our Principal Mrinalini Ma’am.
