12th January Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand ‘National Youth Day’

Every year on 12th January is celebrated as the National Youth Day or the ‘Yuva Diwas’ to honour the birthday of Swami Vivekanand.
The new year began with the celebration of the 158th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekanand celebrated all over the country on 12th January giving a broader message to the youth about the philosophy of Swami Vivekanand and the ideals that will make India a better country in future.
A key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the western world he is also credited with raising interfaith awareness making him undoubtedly a great inspiration to the youth of today.
Students of Class VIII D of Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune virtually celebrated the National Youth Day on the theme ‘Perform to Transform’ with the primary aim of sensitizing the students about the philosophies, principals, and ideas of Swami Vivekanand.
Principal of the school Ms. Mrinalini always encourages and gives a platform to the students to showcase their ideas, views, and creativity in the form of various celebrations.
The special assembly premier lives on January 12th with lighting of the lamp followed by a beautiful song in praise of Swami Vivekanand, followed by and impactful thought for the day befitting the occasion with some interesting facts, and some inspirational quotes by Swami Vivekanand were read aloud.
The students were enlightened with the moral values of Swami Vivekanand through flash cards. Skits depicting the morals were enacted by the students. Swami Vivekananda’s iconic speech given in the Parliament of religions was also delivered by a student.
Through Dance performance students paid a befitting tribute to Swami Vivekananda. One of the students made a live performance from the Ram Krishna Mission. The entire celebration centre around Swami Vivekananda’s teaching and philosophy that enlightened the students and showing them the right path to explore their potential.
