Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune hit a new milestone as it provided safe and accessible vaccination for adolescents. In view of the Covid 19 pandemic, the management of VPMS, Pune organized a vaccination drive to give an easy access of vaccine to VPMS Pune and VPMS Lohegaon students (age group 15 to 18 years). It was organized on Sunday, 9th January 2022 in the Pune school campus from 10 am to 3 pm in collaboration with Sahyadri Hospital Pvt Ltd. Around seventy eligible and willing beneficiaries were administered the first dose of Covaxin.
The wheels of the vaccination drive had started rolling long back. The Principal Ms Mrinalini coordinated with Ex PTA members Mr Shrikant Sarda and Ms Namrata Sarda, who along with Sahyadri Hospital Pvt Ltd. were instrumental in arranging the vaccines. The school along with the class teachers (Std VIII – XII) circulated the information to students about the vaccination drive. The parents of the students willing to take the vaccination filled in the consent form and registered on the Cowin app. To make things smooth and easy the school arranged for man power to assist, a suitable place for registration, Vaccination, waiting area for pre and post vaccination and waiting area for parents. The medical team comprising of Dr Pranam Bhosale, Mr Sanket Bhalerao and Ms Ankita Pal of Sahyadri Hospital ably took over the vaccination of the students. Post the vaccine observation they were asked to follow the doctor’s advice.
VPMS has always strived to reach out and give the best to its students and community. The vaccination drive proved the synergy that VPMS works with. The Principal Ms Mrinalini, on behalf of the management and staff of VPMS Pune extends heartfelt gratitude towards Mrs and Mr Sarda and the team of Sahyadri for the success of the vaccination drive.
