Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Birth Anniversary – 15 th October 2020
Pre-Primary - Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam “World Students Day” is celebrated every year on
15 th October which is the birth anniversary of the “Missile Man of India”, Dr. APJ Abdul
Kalam.
This day is celebrated to honour the most loved President of India who was a scientist,
teacher and an author. The students of the Pre Primary section were given information
about this great personality. They were also shown a video depicting his experiences in
life.
Std I – III - The Lower Primary Section celebrated the 89th Birth Anniversary of Dr
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on 15 th October 2020. The Teachers shared significant information of
APJ through a power point presentation. Students were shown an inspiring video on Dr
A.P.J. Kalam A rocket making activity using an origami paper was conducted.
Std IV – VII – This section had an Oath taking activity which Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had
made the students of VPMS Pune take during his visit to our Campus in July 2014.
To commemorate the 89 th birth anniversary of our former President, ‘Missile Man’, late Dr
APJ Abdul Kalam, a special assembly was conducted for the students of Standard IV to
VII. Some of the main highlights of the assembly were motivating thoughts of the late
President, videos showing interesting facts about Dr Kalam, his contributions to the
country in many roles and how he was a source of inspiration for the youth across the
globe.
The Special Assembly progressed further by dedicating time to know and understand the
magnanimous personality and his accomplishments by watching a very enriching video
designed by DRDO.
Std XI & XII - Students of Std XI & XII had a special assembly to celebrate the 89 th
birth anniversary of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on 15 th October 2020. The assembly was
planned to pay tribute to the People’s president whose birth anniversary is celebrated as
Student’s Day across the globe. This year the theme of World Students Day 2020 is
learning for people, planet, prosperity and peace.
