Captain Mayuri Deshmukh ,Ex-Vikheite ,Batch (1997-98)
Mayuri Deshmukh has been flying Dauphin AS 365 N3 in Pawan Hans Ltd for more than 7 years.With over 4800 hours of flying experience ,she is the only woman in the Country flying helicoptors in offshore transporting the ONGC officials from Mumbai to the offshore platforms and oil rigs.She is highly experienced and qualified pilot carrying out complex offshore operations over oil platforms for the organization.She also has immense exposure of flying across different terrains of the Country which includes UT of Daman & Diu,Andaman and Nicobar Islands and North Eastern States.She also has been flying for police in the anti naxal operations in different parts of the Country.As a covid warrior ,She played a very significant role in carrying out evacuation of covid-19 positive patients of Lakshadeep islands.
Dr. Mihir Metkar, Honouring the VPMS Legacy
In recent patent filings by Moderna,a scientist Dr Mihir Metkar has been identified as the primary contributor to its Covid 19 vaccine.
Dr.Mihir is an Ex-Vikheite and It is indeed a moment of immense pride for us at VPMS Pune to see how Dr Mihir has found his place globally! A member of the 2002-03 VPMS batch, he graduated with flying colours and went on to earn his MSc degree from the Institute of bioinformatics and biotechnology at the Savitribai Phule Pune University .He went on to work at the Indian Institute of Science education and research in Pune as a project assistant before shifting to the United States. He has been listed as the ‘First Named Inventor’ in the patent filing. Kudos Dr. Mihir and Thank you for your life saving hard work.

Vikheites- Sarvesh Navande, All India Best Cadet Senior Division, and Parthsarthi Mulay, got selected as a trainee and will be commissioned as Pilots in the Indian Air Force, post completion of training.
