Report Investiture Ceremony

“A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.”

One of the many memorable ceremonial occasions of VPMS, the Investiture Ceremony, was celebrated on the 24th of January, with
pride and courtesy. The investiture ceremony is a formal event in which the chosen students are bestowed with positions of authority and responsibility. This ceremony is a platform to nurture leadership qualities, build school spirit, and encourage positive behavior amongst the students. Our beloved principal and vice principal attended the gathering along with the parents of the newly elected prefectorial body.

The investiture ceremony began in the first period. The newly elected head prefects, prefects, house captains, vice captains and members of student council marched on stage to be badged by our principal Ms. Mrinalini ma’am. Each member of the prefectorial body accepted their badges with honor and took the oath to handle their responsibilities. The newly elected students are to perform their duties to the best of their capabilities and to be exemplary students. The newly elected body will need to inculcate the values of adaptability, cordialness, incisiveness and be proactive throughout their tenure. The event continued by

inspiring speeches by the previous outgoing prefects and newly elected head prefects.

The program was again brought to life by a melodious performance by the choir. The song ‘Auld Lang syne’ is a song written by Robert Burns and is a folklore evoking the feeling of love and gratitude amongst the people. As the song played the 10th and 12th graders all marched up the stage and were commemorated by the school. It was a wondrous and angelic sight to witness.

The program concluded with a heart warming speech by the principal, Ms. Mrinalini ma’am spreading warmth amongst the crowd.
