Prayer is meditation in disguise. Praying may be seen as a reaching out to each person’s faith rather than necessarily being a call to God. Students are under pressure all the time, and their developing minds must learn to handle it well. Prayer can give them the courage and the serenity they need to handle any negative aspects of their lives.

The Serenity Prayer Competition was thus held on Saturday, 12 th August 2023 in the first two periods for students of STD IX and X. The objective of holding this competition was to ensure that every single student knows the words of all the prayers by heart and sings them wholeheartedly with befitting and due amount of reverence, piety, and fervour.

“It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without heart.”

Prayer has been a part of our tradition from time immemorial. The immense peace experienced during the prayer is inexplicable. It also balances the responses of our nervous system. To experience the tranquillity and the fragrance of the same, an Inter House Prayer Song Competition- ‘Serenity August 2023’ was conducted for the students of middle school.

Judges’ Feedback
It was such a pleasure to listen to the wonderful rendition by much Talented Vikheites. VPMS always focuses on the overall growth of their children and it’s not just about their grades in academics. VPMS equally encourages those who aim to be an Artist or Sportsperson in life along with visionary Engineers, Doctors or Entrepreneurs. That’s what keeps them physically, mentally active and enthusiastic, giving them the right direction to choose their path. The initiatives like SERENITY indulge values within the children without imposing it
on them forcefully. Thus, making learning fun.

This Saturday morning was a treat to ears and I must appreciate the discipline and decorum maintained throughout the event. A very well organised event. Special mention to the 6th grade children, they were the youngest yet phenomenal and the orchestra team who were a great support. Gratitude to all the music teachers and teaching, non-teaching staff for their rigorous efforts in training the kids and organising the event. Last but not the least special thanks for the amazing tea and hospitality.
It’s an honour that my son is being raised under your guidance.
Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this event.
Mrs. Neethi Nair

The competition was organised well and was conducted systematically and punctuality. The students showed discipline and an eagerness to perform to their best abilities. It was evident that great efforts had been taken by the teachers to make the competition fair and successful. The morning was very enjoyable. Kudos to the musicians of middle school for the skilled support they provided to the singers. kudos also to the boy who played the harmonium for skilfully juggling the harmonium and keyboard and providing students with start and end cues. A great cheer to the school authorities for trying to inculcate the value of prayer in children at such an early age.
