We were all children once. We all share the desire for the wellbeing of our children, which has always been and will continue to be the most universally cherished aspiration of humankind. “A day marking childhood- Children’s day celebrations focus on children and their enjoyment. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter, popularly known as ‘Chacha Nehru’. The occasion is celebrated every year with grand splendour and fiesta at Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune. On Tuesday, 15th November 2022, a Special Assembly was conducted for students with an endearing presentation by the teachers.

The Children’s Day celebration on 15th November 2022 began with a light-hearted assembly dedicated to the students by their teachers. The school Principal, Ms. Mrinalini along with the Vice Principal Mr. Amol Patil were the comperes for the program. The program began with the soulful prayer followed by the thought of the day and an explanation of the same. An introduction about Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, highlighting the importance of the day followed by the day’s news headlines, set off the tone for the further proceedings.

Fun facts relating to Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune and its students brought roars of laughter to the students. Two musical renditions, one in English followed by the second in Hindi both sung to a synchronised chorus was well appreciated by students. A power packed dance performance by the teachers to a medley of old and new songs raised the tempo of the programme. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Head Girl and Head Boy who played the role of the Principal and Vice Principal. The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

The programme was thoroughly appreciated by all students from Class I to Class XII who were enthralled on seeing their teachers on stage which generally is their arena.
