Gourmet Central Club – Activity 3 – 12 th November 2022

The students of the Gourmet Central Club assembled in IX A for attendance- about 26 students were present.

In the realm of dining, etiquette refers to proper manners and behavior in a formal dining situation. Table manners play an important part in making a favorable impression. They are visible signals of manners, and therefore, are essential to professional success.

Therefore, students were briefed about table manners and table presentation through a power point presentation – Table Manners and Table Presentation.

The entire recipe of making Pav Bhaji and Cheese, Cherry and Pineapple was shared to the students in detail. Students were asked to make brief notes of the same. Later printouts of the recipe were shared with them. Students were seated in the canteen area to cut and dice / cube the potatoes, onions, green capsicums cauliflower and boiled. Students enjoyed peeling the onions and deseeding the
capsicums. One batch of students fried onion, ginger garlic paste and tomatoes and made masala and added boiled vegetables to it and roasted and prepared bhaji. While the second batch of students applied butter to pav and roasted them, the final lot diced cheese, cherry and pineapple and joined each of the 3 ingredients using a toothpick.

The piping hot, delicious and aromatic pav bhaji was a mouth-watering treat to all the gourmet central students. They also enjoyed the eye catching and tasty cheese, cherry and pineapple. The students were assembled in IX A at the end of the activity so that they could give their feedback.

The students learnt how hardwork enhances concentration, develops fine motor skills and eye hand concentration, peer learning and teamwork.

Feedback: The feedback received from the students was overwhelming and very gratifying. They relished the treat shared with them. They were very happy and commented on how exciting the whole experience was for them. They promised to try making the same activity at home.
