Marathi Bhasha Diwas is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of noted Marathi laureate and renowned poet, Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, popularly kno wn as ‘Kusumagraj’, who was born on February 27, 1912. Marathi being the official language of the state of Maharashtra, the mainfocus of this celebration is to honour the rich history and literature associated with it.

Languages survive only when they are spoken, celebrated and the literary value is conveyed. Jagatik Marathi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated with great fervour in Vikhe Patil Memorial School under the guidance of Principal Mrinalini Ma’am. The objective of the celebration was to make children aware of the importance of the Marathi language and to unfold its beauty. The programme included various scenes conveying the deeper meaning and the literary value. It began with a Marathi Prayer Satyam Shivam Sundara. It was followed by the introduction, story, poetry. The narration was indeed impactful. The colourful attire of the students added flavour to the performances. The program stood out because of the confidence coupled with a superb script.

‘Thet – bhet kalakarashi’ – The program was held in the A.V room. An interactive session with Mrs. Prajakta Pagariya who has designed the cover page of Marathi Sulabhbharti – Std VI, Students were eager to know about the artwork done by artist. Questions were asked to the artist and the answers given were immensely satisfactory.

Overall, the program was very well received by all. Every bit of moment enjoyed by all.
