Rhythmic Moves

“Dance is the hidden language of the body’s soul.” — Martha Graham

With reference to the above mentioned quote, a few benefits of dancing have been enumerated below:
1. Dancing allows one to express oneself.
2. A sense of community is found within the dance.
3. Dancing provides physical/mental refreshment and relaxation.
4. Laughter and fun—dancing can provide a lot of entertainment.
5. Dancing is a form of exercise.
6. Dancers find inspiration and motivation as they become lost in the dance.
7. Dancing allows professional dancers to form affiliations.

The third session of the Rhythmic Club was conducted in the Seminar Hall of the Foundation Block. The morning dance session began with the attendance with 13 dancers present.(Thin attendance due to festival time). The students were briefed about the upcoming Flash mob
performance and a presentation of the same on Children’s Day.

The session commenced with an energetic warm-up routine led by Sunil Sir. The warm up aimed to prepare the dancers physically and mentally for the upcoming dance activities. After the warm up, the dancers transitioned into the first dance segment. Sunil Sir, the dance
instructor for the session, introduced a new routine of dance moves.

A short break followed the first dance segment. The students took this opportunity to snack, hydrate, rest and socialize with their peers. Some even used the time to practice specific moves or discuss the choreography.

The second dance segment of the session commenced after the break. Sunil Sir asked every student to present the moves that were taught in the previous two sessions. This was done to assess the students’ retention of the steps and sequence.

The dance session was a dynamic and engaging experience for all the participants. It provided an opportunity for dancers to learn, explore, rehearse and connect which would help them to become bold and confident. The students wearing the club T-shirts moved and grooved in a synchronized way which was a sight to behold.
