We need to rejuvenate and revitalize our society to make our Mother Earth prosper with imperishable abundance of natural resources and
sustainable life systems.

Objectives:
1) To ensure that our youth is well informed and educated so that they can contribute with their unique perspectives in building healthy, green and climate resilient societies.
2) Increasing awareness about the burning issues pertaining to the environment, climate change and the possible solutions to problems like traffic jams, consumerism and rapid depletion of green cover and biodiversity.

The Youth Climate Summit organized by the Pune Climate Warrior (PCW Season 2) was a platform for young representatives from various schools who are driving climate action to showcase their solutions and to meaningfully engage with decision-makers on the defining issue of our time. Their research and hard work was evident through their confident presentations. The program commenced with a welcome song and introductory speeches after the registration. Eminent personalities from various fields presided over the program and shared their valuable inputs from time to time. Discussions on Sustainable Solutions were followed by Icebreaking Activities.

The Presentation Slots were as follows:
 Slot 1: Standard 6 (TOPIC: AIR- Transport, Air Quality, Waste)
 Slot 2: Standard 7 (TOPIC: ENERGY AND WATER- Trees and Biodiversity, Domestic Energy, Water)

 Slot 3: Standard 8 (TOPIC: URBANIZATION- Urbanization, Inclusive and Resilient Cities, Green Buildings)
 The Event was ‘LIVE’ on YOUTUBE on the PUNECLIMATEWARRIOR YouTube Channel- therefore all the other students, parents and teachers can join this event online.
 The following sequence of events took place post lunch:
a. Summarizing key takeaways
b. Inauguration of the Declaration/Manifesto by the honoured guests,
c. Presentation of the Declaration/Manifesto to the Commissioners of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad
d. Key note Speeches by the honoured guests
e. Expressing gratitude
The active participation of the students and teachers of various schools contributed significantly to the success of this event. This summit provided a unique platform for collective learning, collaboration and to foster a shared commitment to address climate change. PCW’s valuable contribution, attention and commitment to youth engagement in climate action is commendable.
Projects on climate action with the youth to amplify the voices of those most affected by climate change, to empower young people to take action and to demonstrate the inspiring action young people are already taking to tackle climate change. We must put youth at the centre of decision-making processes on climate change. The time to take action is now and work together to preserve our planet’s ecosystem and reduce our carbon footprint.
